August is the month of heat in the tropics, for earthquakes and hurricanes; is the passion of summer, the welcoming of crowds on vacation and a time for famous births.

It is the month of birch trees in the Far East, in Cuba it is associated with “rest” and family reunion, like now #EnModoVerano2024 with the multiplication of recreation, excursions and children and young people’s pranks in these vacations, the most longed-for and populous of the year.(August)

I would say that August is the most sweltering month, although the first days of this eighth month in 2024 arrived quite cool and calm, if it is about atmospheric and seismic activity.

Going Up to the Turquino Royal Peak

They are the days of August worthy for a good bath under the rain in a day with sun and clear sky, any grandmother would say: “The devil is beating his wife!” But this month is no longer the same, it changes in many things because it fosters a strong thunder storm, with lightning, floods in many parts of the world, but the temperatures remain high or cool.

Climate change is evident in August. In Central America and Europe there is a lot of drought, but in many Asian regions there are floods. Mother Nature shows her very evident symptoms of her very poor state, it is not enough the invocation to the gods of the Mayas, Toltecs, Aztecs, Tainos or Yorubas.

And it is that in every August there is a better consensus that the salvation of nature is in the hands of man, although in this month the sulkas in New Britain would put to heat the stones in the bonfire; in Port Stevens -New South Wales- they would throw burning hairs; Australians would heat a stick; in many parts of Africa they would prefer to pray to twins or albinos; in China not to bury corpses and to hang them on the farthest mountain slopes; in India to pour oil, and nearer, on the Orinoco, to bless the toad, the God of Water.

The eighth month of the year progresses amidst risks of very dangerous regional wars, with the most criticized Olympics of recent times, the crisis in the main stock exchanges of the world due to the fear of a hard recession in the United States, the discoveries in the Moon, Mars and Saturn; in the second half of August, there is the beautiful spectacle of the Leonids, the showers of stars coming from one of the constellations that signifies those born in this sign, no matter the year, but standard bearers of the erotic force of Leo, according to many, the most suffocating, hottest, passionate and loving sign.

Hence the joy of being a son of Leo.
