In October the continuation of the extraordinary session of the Plenary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC is pending, from the call made by the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel, President of the Republic, when he said before the farewell last month: See you in October!
It is about monitoring the progress of efforts to meet or get closer to the goal of the economic plan for the current year 2024, when despite the blockade it implies the necessary unity of actions, the political-ideological fostering and the fight against distortions that hinder the real efforts in each municipality, hence, the urgency of a dynamic in the priorities of each territory where Cuba is decided.
I recall that the central report presented by the member of the Council of State, Beatriz Johnson, First Secretary of the Party in the province of Santiago de Cuba, on the tense economic situation here as in the whole country; it implies how to bring together all the political forces, the direct exchange with the people, the defaults by prioritized sectors, banking, the fight against crime and corruption, improving public health services, the solid reaction of the UJC, and the reordering of the new economic actors in the contribution to the economy.
We return to another informative review of the situation in the province amid actions that leave aside theories and give way to priorities, as has been seen in Laguna Blanca and other productive areas, in cooperatives that accentuate a little more effort in the sugar cane fields, in the current coffee harvest in development and the imminent ripening at the end of this month, plus the frequent exchanges between the municipal governments with the new economic actors in the redefinition of the controls in the taxes to the State and the way toward lower prices for the people.
The call is not to burn stages, nor to go out into the fields in marathons when many potentialities exist without being exploited one hundred percent, it is to look for expedite ways in the face of misunderstandings, to close ranks to crimes, corruption, social indiscipline, tax evasion, excessive pricing, in short, against the inertia evident in many decision makers, actors and social managers who are pretending, while others remain silent and the worst, seek to divert or confuse strategic lines and other tactics such as those reviewed during each day.
All this is amid the delegate’s constituency meetings, on the day of the innovator who decides so much, in a month of extreme attention for the cyclonic season and the process of internal control in the province. See you in October!
