Upon postponing the 40th edition of the International Caribbean Festival due to the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the intention is to take advantage of this celebration, from July 3 to 9, to revisit its legacy.

Orlando Verges, director of the Caribbean House, said that the so-called Fire Festival it takes places on that date in 2021 and will maintain its dedication to Belize, whose authorities will carry out the necessary coordination to enable a diverse and representative presence of that culture.

Verges indicated that the possibilities to use information and communication technologies, audiovisuals and social media through Internet allow to promote the knowledge and dissemination of the documentary treasures of the institution, whose files so warrant.

Texts, advertising images, posters, documentaries, magazines, speeches and testimonies make up that enormous flow that has been gathering since the first festival took place in 1981, tested in four decades by cyclones and severe material shortages that forced its realization in the greatest austerity, Verges pointed out.
