You would wonder what happened, if the identification of the Central Union of Cuban Workers (CTC in Spanish) changed, because in many places it now appears as CtcSantiago and in other notifications, accompanied with the phrase CubaVa, well, it didn’t! It is about positioning that little by little resizes the work of the CTC in the network of networks, in response to a claim when it is necessary to interweave the events of the fifteen unions with the Innovators´ League (ANIR in Spanish) in this heavy artillery of communication.
“Now we are deploying in a very similar way to a battalion of Santiago de Cuba workers in today’s heavy artillery to inform, adjust and organize all the union potential of the province of Santiago de Cuba, and mind you, we have things to say, from the workers’ activities to the new legal orientations and the projects under development”, says to tvsantiago, Orlando Beltran, General Secretary of the CTC.
The Workers’ Movement of Santiago de Cuba province does not stop, now it reappears, adds, multiplies and launches the challenge to other fellow organizations, in a fraternal league to make the national trench stronger with the official account: @CTCStgodeCuba in X, but the advances continue in this closing of the year, both in Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and instagram with frequent photos and videos that reflect the reality of the Santiago de Cuba workers, among family members, the reunions of friends and collective birthday parties, all along the province. Photos and videos that show how we live, work and continue for the revitalization of hundreds of tasks in agriculture, repairs, the need for productive guarantee in the coffee plantations and in energizing the communities.
The greatest incentive for these final days of 2024 is the preparation of the #22CongresoCTC, the union conferences; the progress in the selection of direct delegates to the top workers’ meeting in Havana scheduled for the month of April 2025, the analysis and discussion of the draft of the statutes of the CTC, and the economy in general.
“In the social networks, our sovereignty, peace, independence, self-determination and the frank consensus towards the application of alternatives that not only allow us to dodge the blockade, but also to advance in the development of Cuba’s economy are also decided.”
“The truth now does not wait, it is carried from the Santiago fields, either on weekends or in the course of each working day, on the job site, in agriculture, in construction, in industries in food processing, from transportation, large and medium-sized facotries in a province with more than a million and a half inhabitants.”, added Orlando Beltran, general secretary of the provincial CTC.
Through the new Youtube Channel CtcSantiago, solidarity with Cuba is also multiplying in more than 125 nations, there a significant participation -on line- of some four thousand Santiago de Cuba people who collaborate in fifty countries.

In this October the coordination and support in the work to and from the social networks by fifteen provincial unions and ANIR, weekly training courses; the updating of digital changes through the WhatsApp channel, without stopping the activities (#CubaEnModoVictoria) and the touches for the end of the year in #SantiagoDeCuba. In coordination with the Palace of Computing and the Association of Journalists of Cuba, actions are taking place for the best dynamics and workers’ participation in social networks in defense of the Cuban truth, also virtual exchanges through forum-debates or seminars on the articulation of any platform, the generalization of national and foreign applications (apks), all for the sake of greater production of digital content and interaction with new foreign audiences.
