Direct delegate from Santiago de Cuba from the Union of Agricultural, Livestock, Forestry and Tobacco Workers (SNTAFT in Spanish) elected to the 22nd Congress of the Central Union of Cuban Workers (CTC in Spanish) scheduled for April of next year.
She is Maricela Cintra, representing the six union cells that group more than seven hundred workers that she leads at the Flora and Fauna company in Santiago de Cuba.
“The process is framed in the preparations for the next workers’ congress, for the 86th anniversary of the CTC and the 172nd anniversary of the birth of Jose Marti, hence the Flora and Fauna company was selected for being National Vanguard Collective for seven consecutive years and with palpable results such as the certification of accounting and internal control”; according to Yamilet Sierra, member of the national secretariat of the Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers’ Union.
Marina ReynoSerraña, director of the Santiago de Cuba Flora and Fauna company highlighted to tvsantiago the effort in the conservation and rescue of plant and animal diversity, an entity responsible for 1,500 heads of cattle with genetic authenticity, in addition to the two aquariums, one in Baconao and the other in the historic center of Santiago de Cuba, and the Gran Piedra and Canasi gardens, and how, in spite of the tense economic situation, the annual plan for income, sales and profits is being exceeded, among other indicators such as the progress of development projects and protected areas, with 738 workers in various systems: genetics, conservation and development.
DeysiPozo, general secretary of SNTAFT in Santiago de Cuba province, congratulated and recognized the direct delegate, Maricela Cintra for the results from the secret and direct vote.
ClotildePaumier, provincial party official for agricultural and livestock matters, also commended Maricela Cintra and the other women of the Flora and Fauna company, that are members of the union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers who -day by day- put Marti’s maxim on high: “Work, this sweetest consolation, this source of sources, this source of origins, this chisel, creative, evocative brush, this friend that unites, adds, smiles, invigorates and heals, work pleases me.”
