Santiago de Cuba – To Celebrate in Santiago de Cuba the central activities for the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution constitutes pride, responsibility and commitment with the Homeland, said today Jose Ramon Monteagudo, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC in Spanish) in the province.
At the Heredia Theater of this city, the Party leader said that a broad action plan is being carried out with the aim of promoting the main development processes and programs in the southeastern territory, for which they work in detail.
He said that difficulties should not become excuses for justification and conformism.
He called to work in meeting the technical-economic plans with greater efficiency, in tune with the challenges of the current situation of the nation, as well as to achieve a favorable behavior in the execution of the budget and to increase the rigor and discipline in the application of the fiscal policy.
Working intensively to sow 65 thousand hectares in the cold season, the creation of 18 new areas for agricultural development, repairing the Dos Rios power plant in the municipality of Palma Soriano, starting the harvest as planned and complying with the sugar cane cultivation and the plan for market circulation, are all actions that are part of the relevant historical event.
Likewise, he said that raising the productivity of construction materials, concluding 1,355 houses and 479 basic housing facilities, establishing effective saving measures in the use of energy carriers, mainly fuel, and eliminating indiscipline, illegalities and acts of corruption are priorities.
Work will be done to improve the hygienic and sanitary situation, quality of the services to the population, to consolidate the community work at council and district level, and also to support the organization of recreational, sports and cultural activities for the end of the year.
Monteagudo stated that special attention should be paid to the completion of works in the city.
He also referred to the celebration of rallies for the liberation of towns and cities, as well as on December 31 the traditional Flag Feast, on January 1, 2024 the rally for the Triumph of the Revolution and on the second day the departure of the Caravan of Freedom.
Annia Poblador, first secretary of the PCC in Palma Soriano, the municipality where the celebration will be held in Santiago de Cuba, stressed that the people will always defend the principle of continuity. Palma Soriano, the first capital of the Revolution, welcomes the decision of the highest leadership of the province, as a worthy recognition to the efforts of its inhabitants, who maintain an exemplary conduct in the fulfillment of the assigned tasks, she said.
