65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.- Official call issued by comrade Jose Ramon Monteagudo, First Secretary of the Party in the province of Santiago de Cuba:
With the special motivation of celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution we summon the cadres, workers and the people of Santiago, to a Day of Decisive Effort supporting what Fidel expressed «The History of a country, the victories of a country, the advances of a country are written every day, they are written in the effort and daily work, they are written not only with the heroism of one day, but with the heroism of every day.»
Call for a day of decisive effort on the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution
Fellow citizens:
This year 2023 has been for the people of Santiago of hard work, but also of many motivations. With the revolutionary commitment that has always characterized this heroic people, we have commemorated historical facts and events such as the 170th anniversary of the birth of our National Hero Jose Marti, the 65th anniversary of the founding of the 2nd and 3rd Fronts, the 145th anniversary of the Baragua Protest and the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks.
As we all know, to commemorate these glorious anniversaries, we, the people of Santiago, proposed a broad plan of activities with the aim of promoting the main processes and programs of the territory.
It has been the unity, optimism, will, revolutionary commitment and the active participation of the workers and the people of Santiago together with their leaders, which allowed us in the midst of the current complex situation, to obtain the host city of the event for the 70th anniversary of the Day of National Rebelliousness, not only by history, but also with results, some of which were reported to the people in the central national event for July 26.
To celebrate here in Santiago de Cuba, on behalf of all Cubans, the central activities for the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, constitutes a great responsibility and a high commitment with the Homeland and with all our people.
From this moment on, we have 43 days left for the Revolution of the humble, with the humble and for the humble, to reach its 65th anniversary.
How should we, the people of Santiago, its cadres and workers, work on this day of decisive effort to commemorate this heroic and glorious historical event?
What rhythm should we put to our daily work to achieve the successful fulfillment of all the activities that we are proposing to celebrate the triumph of the Revolution?
The call of the Party leadership is to work hard, day and night. It is up to the cadres, to the Government, to the political and mass organizations, to lead the battle of our people in this day of decisive effort, with our Party militants and the youth at the forefront.
It is not necessary to wait for more orientations, in this province there is a work system where everyone knows what they have to do and the way in which they should work and act.
Fidel told us that in the face of any objective difficulty, men must grow. Life presents innumerable alternatives and possible actions in the face of each concrete problem, which should never be accepted as an excuse for not fulfilling the task or allowing difficulties to become justifying and conformist pretexts.
Raul told us: «the secret to achieve greater success lies in the ability of the cadres to comprehend the complexity of the situation as a whole, to establish priorities, to organize the work, to unite the forces, to demand discipline, to educate by example, to explain the necessity of each task, to convince, to stimulate, to raise the spirit and to mobilize the will of the people.«
Let us demonstrate once again the YES WE CAN AND ALWAYS CAN MORE to which Fidel and Raul summon us.
We are convinced that every citizen from Santiago will claim his or her place at the forefront in this day of decisive effort.
We have to multiply, there are several fronts and tasks to accomplish, everything must be done with proper organization, discipline, control and motivation.
In addition to what we must do in our daily work, there will be various activities in the political, economic and social fields.
During the week of November 20 to 26, all municipalities must mobilize to leave their neighborhoods, blocks, streets, buildings, workplaces and communities clean.
On Sundays, November 26, December 3 and 10, voluntary work days for food production will be held in all municipalities, companies and production units.
All the dates and historical events corresponding to the months of November and December will be commemorated, strengthening the revolutionary commitment that has always characterized the people of Santiago de Cuba.
Between December 20 and 25, each work center will carry out its act for the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, where it will make an evaluation of the fulfillment of the commitments made.
It will be necessary to organize many days after working hours to support another important group of activities that we must develop in the most diverse fronts.
Each municipality will hold its own celebration and we will hold the provincial rally in the municipality of Palma Soriano, where the Commander in Chief called for the Revolutionary General Strike to consolidate the triumph of the Revolution.
Intense days of work await us and we will overcome them, with the special motivation, pride and commitment of all the people of Santiago to celebrate here, in Santiago de Cuba, the 65th anniversary of the triumph of our heroic and glorious Revolution.
Because Santiago is Santiago and with the effort of all of us we will overcome.
